What’s new

August 2024: Round 2 is open for applications.

It will remain open until 30 June 2025 or until all funding is allocated. Applicants should allow up to 12 weeks for assessment of their application to be completed.

The grant of up to $50, 000 is for Queensland-based manufacturers to improve energy efficiency measures and technology, reduce energy usage, costs and emissions.

Lighting upgrades may be eligible for up to 100% of project costs. Applications for other eligible projects can seek funding of 75% of the project costs.

It can take up to 12 weeks for your application to be assessed.

Successful applicants must execute a Grant agreement with the department. This agreement will outline the terms and conditions of the proposed grant including milestone deliverables, grant funding, reporting and outcomes to be achieved by the applicant. These are specific to each applicant. Information about the agreement is in the guide and there is a sample agreement for Round 2 (PDF, 694KB).

About the program

A  $7.1 million program, the Manufacturing Energy Efficiency Grant (MEEG) Program is part of the Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan and also complements the Queensland Government’s Advanced Manufacturing 10-Year Roadmap and Action Plan.

Manufacturing Energy Efficiency Grant Program Round 1

Round 1 of the Manufacturing Energy Efficiency Grant Program opened for applications on 23 October 2023 and closed on 30 June 2024. Applications received before the closing date are being assessed. Applicants should allow up to 12 weeks from submission for assessment of their application.
