Terms and conditions

Terms and conditions of attendance and participation for delegates

These are the terms (the agreement) that govern your registration and attendance at, and/or participation in the Inside Advanced Manufacturing events (2–13 September 2024) (events). The events have been arranged by the Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water (the department) and will be hosted by a number of advanced manufacturers (exhibitors) and manufacturing support organisations (organisations) at various sites and facilities throughout Queensland.

If you are registering on behalf of another person, it is your responsibility to ensure that the person attending is aware of these terms, and accepts them, and by completing the registration you are warranting that you have made the attendee aware of these terms and that they have accepted them, and you indemnify the department in relation to any failure by the attendee to comply with these terms.

If you are under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must accept these terms on your behalf.

  1. Event admission
    1. Admittance. Registration does not entitle you to admittance to an event. All registrations are subject to approval by the department, exhibitors and organisations. If your registration is approved, then an invitation will be emailed to you.
    2. Costs. All costs associated with your attendance (including any travel or accommodation expense) will be solely your responsibility and neither the department nor the exhibitors or organisations will be liable for such costs.
    3. Workplace Health and Safety. You must comply with the exhibitor's and organisation's policies, procedures, directions or instructions relating to workplace health and safety, including any particular clothing requirements which have been advised to you. This includes participation in site inductions and use of personal protective equipment as required by the exhibitor or organisation.
    4. Removal. The department or an exhibitor or organisation may require your removal from an event if they, in their sole discretion, considers that your presence or behaviour creates a disruption or hindrance to the event or the enjoyment of the event by other attendees or if you engage in any unlawful or unsafe conduct.
    5. Media. You agree that the department and the exhibitor or organisation may record, film, photograph or capture your image in any media now available, or developed in the future, during the event and to distribute, broadcast, use or otherwise globally to disseminate in perpetuity such media without any further approval by, or payment to, you. This includes but is not limited to, the right to edit such media, the right to use the media alone or together with other information, and the right to allow others to use and/or disseminate the media.
    6. Photos/video. Recording of the event or of an exhibitor’s or organisation’s premises is strictly prohibited. Without limitation, recording includes audio, video and/or still photography, whether by electronic or other means.
    7. Event content. The department, in its sole discretion, may change any and all aspects of the event, including the event name, themes, content, program speakers, performers, exhibitors, organisations, venue, date and time.
  2. Privacy
    1. The department’s privacy and security statement sets out how the department handles and protects your personal information.
    2. The department will use the personal information you have provided to administer the event and disclose it to exhibitors and organisations in connection with organising and administering the events.
  3. Intellectual property and confidentiality
    1. Intellectual property. Your attendance at the event does not give you any rights to use, copy or reproduce event content or materials distributed in connection with the event. You must not use or reproduce, or allow anyone to use or reproduce, any intellectual property (without limitation including trademarks or other trade names) which may appear at an event, in any event content or in any materials distributed in connection with the event for any reason, without obtaining an appropriate licence from the owner of the intellectual property.
    2. Confidentiality. The department or an exhibitor may disclose confidential information to you in the course of your attendance or participation in the event. You must keep any such information confidential and not reproduce or further disclose it to any person unless you are required by law to do so.
  4. Warranties, limitation of liability and insurance
    1. Neither the department or the exhibitors or organisations give any warranties in respect of any aspect of the event, or any materials related to it and to the fullest extent permitted by law, disclaim all implied warranties. Neither the department nor the exhibitors or the organisations will accept any responsibility or liability for reliance by you or any person on any aspect of the event or any information provided at the event.
    2. Attendance at the event is at your own risk. To the extent permitted by law, neither the department or the exhibitors or the organisations will be liable for any loss or damage you incur in connection with the event or your attendance at the event. You release the department and exhibitors and organisations from any claim in respect of such loss or damage.
  5. Governing law
    1. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Queensland, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the State.
