Public notice draft water entitlement notice

Notice is given under section 72 of the Water Act 2000 (the Act) that the chief executive’s delegate has published a draft water entitlement notice for the purpose of implementing the Water Plan (Border Rivers and Moonie) 2019.

The draft water entitlement notice can be inspected by viewing and/or downloading the documents from the department’s website or at any Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water office, including the Toowoomba, Goondiwindi and St George DRDMW offices.

Under section 72 of the Act, any affected person may make a submission about the draft water entitlement notice. A person is an affected person for the draft water entitlement notice if the person is any of the following:

  1. the holder or proposed holder of a water entitlement
  2. the holder of a resource operations licence
  3. the holder of a distribution operations licence
  4. the applicant for a water licence.

Submissions must be made to the chief executive, in an approved way, on or before 5.00pm on 20 September 2024.

  • completing an online submission form

  • sending your submission by post or courier to:

Privacy and confidentiality

We are collecting personal information included in submissions, including information about your name and address, for the purpose of the Border Rivers and Moonie water entitlement notice.

The Water Act 2000 authorises us to collect this personal information. We will only use your information for this purpose. It will otherwise not be used or disclosed unless authorised or required by law.

Your personal information will be handled in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009, read more our privacy policy.

Submissions should identify any information that is considered confidential. We will endeavour to maintain confidentiality of information that is identified in this way. However, information may be released if we are required to disclose the information by law.
