Public notice: intention to postpone the expiry of the Water Plan (Wet Tropics) 2013

Water Act 2000 section 54

Purpose

Notice is given under section 54 of the Water Act 2000 (the Water Act) that the Minister for Regional Development and Manufacturing and Minister for Water intends to postpone the expiry of the Water Plan (Wet Tropics) 2013 and invites public submissions.

Minister’s report

The Minister for Regional Development and Manufacturing and Minister for Water has prepared a report under section 49 of the Water Act 2000 about the effectiveness of the Water Plan (Wet Tropics) 2013 and its implementation in advancing the sustainable management of Queensland’s water. This report can be accessed on the Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water’s website www.rdmw.qld.gov.au. (Search for Wet Tropics).

Proposed new expiry date

The proposed new expiry date of the Water Plan (Wet Tropics) 2013 is 1December 2032.

Submissions

Any entity may make a submission about the intent to postpone the expiry of the Water Plan (Wet Tropics) 2013. Submissions must:

  • be in writing and signed by each person making the submission, unless the submission is electronic, in which case no signature is required
  • state the name and address of each person making the submission
  • state the grounds of the submission and the facts and circumstances relied on in support of the grounds
  • be made to the Chief Executive
  • be received on or before 5pm, 15 July 2024
